I really hate technical and confusing language. Too often it’s designed to keep ordinary people unaware of what their rights are. “Authorised push payment fraud” is a case in point. It sounds extremely complicated, doesn’t it? Not the sort of thing ordinary people should worry about; not the sort of thing that could happen to me!

Wrong, of course.

Authorised push payment fraud is simply the formal name for when you are tricked into sending money to a scammer. (For a slightly more precise definition, see the FCA’s description, which is very simple to understand).
